Biography
Matthew Wilson is a playwright, actor, and director whose plays In the Wreckage, Drowning of Thirst, and Radio Hysteria have all been produced in Chicago's thriving storefront theatre scene. His work "has an awful lot in common with great pop music, revealing essential human truths in a compact, catchy way" (Nick Green, Chicago Reader) and "reverberates with deep longing and anxiety" (Justin Hayford, Chicago Tribune). Directing credits include productions of The Shawl, No One Will Be Immune, Under Observation, and The New World Order. For eighteen months he wrote and performed weekly monologues and sketches for Chicago community radio station WZRD. Stage acting credits include Smokers (Great Beast Theatre), Two Doors Down from Tip-Top (Curious Theatre Branch) and Sacrilege (Shapeshifters Theatre Co.). His original solo pieces have appeared in Ian's Dog and Pony Show and Something Wicked This Way Comes.
