Biography
Samara Siskind is a Florida based playwright. Her plays have been produced all across the country as well as internationally in eight countries. Her play Bar Mitzvah Boy is featured in the Vintage Books Anthology, Shorter, Faster, Funnier: Comic Plays and Monologues, edited by Eric Lane and Nina Shengold. Siskind's work has also been published by Playscripts, Brooklyn Publishers, Meriwether Publishing, and Plays - The Drama Magazine for Young People. Honors include Carbonell and Curtain Up nominations for Best New Work (Fell in Love with a Girl), Runner Up - International Centre for Women/Playscripts' Are Women Funny? Contest (What NOT to Do at Districts), Winner - Lakeshore Player's Theatre 18th Annual 10 Minute Play Festival, Honorable Mention – 2022 Stage It! 10 Minute Play Festival (Missed Disconnections), Current Semi-Finalist – Little Fish Theatre’s 2023 Pick of the Vine Play Festival (Missed Disconnections). Ms. Siskind holds a BFA in Regional Theatre from Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts.
