Biography
Ben Kingsland is an award-winning playwright whose plays have been seen at the Kennedy Center Page-to-Stage Festival, SOURCE Festival, Playwrights' Theatre of New Jersey, Imagination Stage, Rorschach Theatre, Olney Theater Center, Active Cultures, Journeymen Theater, and many schools and community theatres.
Awards include "Best Writing" in 2009, 2010, and 2011 and "Best Overall Production" in 2010 from Bethesda Urban Partnership's Play-in-a-Day competition at Imagination Stage. Development of The Twelve Daughters of Hercules was supported by a grant from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Maryland.
Commissions from InterAct Story Theatre, Synetic Family Theatre, Educational Theatre Company, Encore Stage & Studio, and Emergence Theatre. Mr. Kingsland graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University.
