Biography
Tammy Ryan's plays have been produced across the country and regionally in Pittsburgh where she is based. She has had residencies at the Sewanee Writer's Conference, the Bonderman Symposium and the New Harmony Project where her play Lost Boy Found in Whole Foods was first developed. A featured play at the National New Play Network's 2009 Showcase of Plays, it was produced by Premiere Stages and Playwrights Theater of New Jersey. Her writing for young audiences includes The Music Lesson (Florida Stage) which was awarded the American Alliance of Theater in Education's Distinguished Play Award. Other plays include A Confluence of Dreaming, Baby's Blues, FBI Girl (The Rep), Dark Part of the Forest (Premiere Stages), The Boundary (University of Pittsburgh Repertory Theater), and Pig (29th Street Rep). She lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and two daughters and is a Dramatists Guild representative for the Pittsburgh region.
