Biography
Wendell Berry was born in Henry County, Kentucky, in 1934. He holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Kentucky. Mr. Berry has taught at Georgetown College, Stanford University, New York University and his alma mater. The author of over 40 books of poetry, essays and fiction, Mr. Berry has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship, National Institute of Arts and Letters Award, American Academy of Arts and Letters Jean Stein Award, Membership in the Fellowship of Southern Writers, John Hay Award and the Cynthia Pratt Laughlin Medal from The Garden Club of America. He lives and works with his wife, Tanya Berry, on their farm in Kentucky.
